A Plugin is a set of e-commerce capability entry points in StoreClaw. It pre-packages the connectors, account authorization, and Skills needed for a specific platform or business scenario, allowing you to complete installation and connection faster.
The current version of Plugin is mainly designed to simplify the installation experience. When you install a Plugin, StoreClaw will guide you through account connection and automatically install the Skills bundled with this Plugin. After installation, you can ask questions, analyze data, and generate operational recommendations in StoreClaw based on the connected data.
What problems does Plugin solve
In the past, you might have needed to understand the relationship between connectors, account authorization, and Skills separately. Plugin puts all these steps in one entry:
- Select the platform or capability you want to use.
- Complete account connection as prompted.
- Automatically install related Skills.
- View connected accounts, supported connectors, and available Skills in one detail page.
This way, you don't need to know the name of each Skill beforehand, and you don't need to install them one by one manually.
What's the difference between Plugin and Connector
Plugin is a capability package, while Connector is an account and data connection method.
Simply put:
- Plugin: Tells StoreClaw which set of capabilities you want to enable, such as a specific e-commerce platform or type of operational workflow.
- Connector: Connects your actual store, account, or business system to StoreClaw.
- Skill: The capability StoreClaw uses to complete analysis, generation, diagnosis, or automation tasks.
In the current version, many existing Connectors have been upgraded to Plugin entries. After installing a Plugin, you still need to complete the account connection for the corresponding Connector before StoreClaw can read data within the authorized scope.
Plugin Status
Plugins currently have 3 statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not Installed | You haven't installed this Plugin yet. |
| Installed | You have installed the Plugin and related Skills are installed, but you haven't successfully connected an account, or the connection authorization failed. |
| Connected | At least one Connector account under the Plugin has been successfully connected. |
If account authorization fails during installation, the Plugin may still show as Installed because the related Skills have been installed. You can reconnect the account later.
How to Install a Plugin
You can install a Plugin from the following entry points:
- When adding a store in the left menu, select an e-commerce type Plugin.
- In the Plugin list page, select any Plugin and click Install.
During installation, StoreClaw will guide you through account connection and automatically install the Skills included in the Plugin.
What you can see on the Plugin detail page
After entering the Plugin detail page, you can see:
- Platform name, logo, and a one-line description.
- Connected account information, such as store handle, store name, or account alias.
- List of supported Connectors.
- Preset Examples that can be sent directly to StoreClaw when clicked.
- List of installed Skills.
The Skills list currently only supports viewing. Clicking a Skill opens a detail modal, but you cannot uninstall, delete, or disable it.
Why Plugin uninstallation is not supported in the current version
The current version of Plugin is mainly an installation experience wrapper and does not carry independent business capabilities itself. Uninstalling a Plugin will not automatically disconnect account connections or uninstall already installed Skills.
Therefore, to avoid misunderstandings, Plugin uninstallation is temporarily not supported in the current version. If you no longer want StoreClaw to access a specific account, please go to Settings -> My Integrations to disconnect.
How to start using after installation
After installing and connecting your account, you can directly ask questions in StoreClaw, for example:
Help me analyze the sales changes of this store in the last 7 days and point out the most important issues to focus on.
Based on the connected store data, generate a weekly operational briefing.
Help me check which products have inventory, conversion, or review risks.
StoreClaw will generate analysis results and next-step recommendations based on your authorized data, current project context, and installed Skills.
Current version limitations
- Plugin only supports installation, not uninstallation.
- The Skills list on the Plugin detail page is mainly for viewing. To uninstall a Skill, go to Skill Hub or My Skills.
- Plugin is currently mainly used for installation and connection experience and does not represent the complete long-term Plugin capability form.
- If account connection fails, you need to re-enter the corresponding Connector or Plugin detail page to continue the connection.
