After you connect Omnisend, StoreClaw can read your campaigns, contacts, customer segments, subscription status, and automation workflow data within the authorized scope for marketing analysis, customer insights, and automated operations.
This guide explains how to create an API Key in Omnisend and complete the connection and verification in StoreClaw.
Before You Start
Before you begin, make sure the following conditions are met:
- You have an active Omnisend account and can sign in normally.
- The account you use has permission to access Store Settings and create API Keys.
- You have confirmed the permission scope you want to grant to StoreClaw.
- You are signed in to StoreClaw.
Tip: We recommend creating a dedicated API Key for StoreClaw so you can manage, audit, and revoke it separately. Do not share the same API Key with other systems.
Get the Omnisend API Key
1. Sign In to Omnisend
Open the Omnisend website and sign in to your account.
2. Open the API Key Management Page
In the Omnisend dashboard, go to Store Settings, then open the API keys page.

3. Create an API Key
On the API keys page, click Create API key, then complete the following settings:
- Enter a name for the API Key, such as
StoreClaw Integration. - Select the appropriate permission scope based on the data StoreClaw needs to read.
- Click Create API key.
- After the API Key is created, copy it and store it securely.

Important: The API Key is an access credential. Do not send it in group chats, public documents, or screenshots. If the API Key is exposed, delete the old key in Omnisend immediately and generate a new one.
Connect Omnisend in StoreClaw
You can find the Omnisend connector in either of the following ways:
- Enter
Help me connect Omnisendin the StoreClaw conversation box. - Click Connectors in the left navigation, then find the Omnisend connector card under Marketing.
The connection process is as follows:
- Click the + button on the Omnisend connector card.
- In the connector dialog, click Connect Omnisend.
- On the Omnisend authorization page, enter the Omnisend API Key as prompted.
- Click Connect Account.
- The page will automatically return to the Connectors page in StoreClaw.
- When the Omnisend card shows the Connected status, the connection is successful.
Security Note: StoreClaw only reads Omnisend data within the permission scope of the API Key for marketing analysis, customer insights, and automation tasks. The connection process does not delete or publish your Omnisend data.
Verify the Connection Status
After the connection is complete, you can verify that it works properly:
- Go to the Connectors page and confirm that the Omnisend card shows the Connected status.
- Enter a prompt in StoreClaw, such as
Show my Omnisend email campaigns. - If StoreClaw returns Omnisend data successfully, the connection is active.
If the connection fails, check whether the API Key was copied completely, whether the permission scope is sufficient, and whether the API Key is still valid.
Disconnect Omnisend
To stop StoreClaw from accessing Omnisend data, follow these steps:
- Go to the Connectors page.
- Find the connected Omnisend card.
- Click the card and select Disconnect in the dialog.
- Confirm the disconnection.
Note: After disconnection, StoreClaw will stop reading data from this Omnisend account. Disconnecting Omnisend will not delete any data from Omnisend and will not affect historical analysis results already generated in StoreClaw.
Recommendation: If you want to completely revoke access, also go to the API keys page in Omnisend and delete the corresponding API Key.
Available Features After Connection
After Omnisend is connected, StoreClaw can read Omnisend data within the API Key permission scope and support the following analysis capabilities:
| Feature Module | Available Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Campaign analysis | View campaign lists, sending status, open rates, click rates, and other performance metrics |
| Automation workflow analysis | Query automation sequences, trigger conditions, and workflow performance |
| Contact analysis | View contact information, subscription status, and engagement history |
| Customer segments | Read customer segment data and analyze customers by behavior, attributes, and other dimensions |
| Subscription status analysis | Analyze subscription, unsubscribe, and customer engagement changes |
| Integrated data analysis | Combine Omnisend data with other channel data for overall marketing analysis |
Note: The actual data available depends on the API Key permission scope, the permissions of the authorized account, and your Omnisend plan. StoreClaw will not read data that is not authorized or not accessible to the authorized account.
Example Prompts
After the connection is successful, you can enter prompts like these in StoreClaw:
Analyze the open rate and click rate trends of my Omnisend campaigns over the past 30 daysShow subscription rate and engagement by customer segmentList the top three performing Omnisend automation workflowsShow recent unsubscribe trendsSummarize the performance of my latest Omnisend campaignCompare engagement across different customer segments and suggest improvements
Security Recommendations
To protect your data and account security, we recommend the following practices:
- Use a dedicated API Key: Create a separate API Key for StoreClaw and do not share it with other systems.
- Follow the principle of least privilege: Grant only the permission scope that StoreClaw actually needs.
- Audit regularly: Review the API Key list in Omnisend regularly.
- Revoke promptly: If you suspect that the API Key has been exposed, delete the old key immediately and generate a new one.
- Avoid public exposure: Do not display the API Key in group chats, public documents, screenshots, or emails.
FAQ
Q: Can I Connect Multiple Omnisend Accounts?
A: No, StoreClaw only supports connecting one Omnisend account.
Q: What Should I Do if I See Invalid API Key or Authentication Failed?
A: Check whether the API Key was copied completely and whether there are leading or trailing spaces or extra characters. Also confirm that the API Key is still valid and has not been deleted or revoked. If the issue continues, generate a new API Key in Omnisend and reconnect.
Q: What Should I Do if I See Connection timeout or the Page Does Not Respond?
A: Check whether your network connection is stable and try again later. You can also check the Omnisend service status to confirm whether Omnisend is experiencing a service issue.
Q: What Should I Do if I See Insufficient Permissions or Access Denied?
A: This usually means the API Key does not have enough permissions. Check whether the permission scope selected when creating the API Key covers the data StoreClaw needs to read. To adjust permissions, create a new API Key with the required scope in Omnisend.
Q: Does StoreClaw Store My Omnisend API Key?
A: StoreClaw stores the API Key securely so it can access the Omnisend API later. Keep your API Key safe and do not share it in public channels. To fully revoke access, disconnect Omnisend in StoreClaw and delete the corresponding API Key in Omnisend.
Q: Do I Have to Use Read and Write Permissions When Connecting Omnisend?
A: Not necessarily. If you only need to read marketing data and analyze campaign performance and customer behavior, we recommend granting read-related permissions only. Grant higher permissions only when write actions are required.
Q: How Do I Disconnect Omnisend?
A: Go to the Connectors page in StoreClaw, find the connected Omnisend card, click it, and select Disconnect. If you want to fully revoke access, also delete the corresponding API Key on the API keys page in Omnisend.
Q: Will Historical Data Be Deleted After Disconnection?
A: No. Disconnecting Omnisend only stops StoreClaw from reading new Omnisend data. It does not delete data from Omnisend and does not affect historical analysis results already generated in StoreClaw.
