The StoreClaw Chrome extension connects StoreClaw with your local Chrome browser. After the connection is set up, StoreClaw can open web pages, read page content, and help complete tasks that depend on a real browser environment.

This is useful when a task needs your current login session, a dynamic web page, access to an ecommerce admin, or your help with login and CAPTCHA verification.

Currently, only the local Chrome browser is supported. Cloud browser, Edge, and Safari support will be available in future releases.

Common Use Cases

  • Extract Web Page Information: Extract real-time content from competitor pages, product detail pages, search result pages, or admin reports.
  • Assist With Admin Operations: With your authorization and instructions, StoreClaw can enter an ecommerce admin and help search, fill in, or click through pages.
  • Handle Dynamic Pages: Access pages that must be opened in a real browser, such as pages that require login, dynamic loading, or human verification.

Before You Start

Make sure your device and browser meet the following requirements:

Item Requirement
Operating System macOS or Windows
Browser Chrome
Chrome Version Chrome 100 or later recommended

We recommend using the latest stable version of Chrome for better compatibility and security.

Fallback path: open the Chrome Web Store page manually

If the direct jump from StoreClaw does not work, you can also install the extension from this link:

Verify the Connection Status

Before the extension is installed, the Chrome card on the StoreClaw browser page usually shows Browser extension not detected and a Connect button.

After installation, go back to StoreClaw -> Settings -> Browser and refresh the page. StoreClaw will automatically detect the extension status and complete the pairing. You do not need to enter any additional parameters manually.

Browser Page: Connected

You can confirm the connection in the following ways:

  • StoreClaw Browser Page: The Chrome row shows Connected.
  • Chrome Toolbar: The StoreClaw extension icon appears in the upper-right corner.
  • Chat Test: Send an instruction that requires web actions in Chat. StoreClaw should be able to call your local browser to complete the task.

What You Can Do After Connecting

After the connection is successful, StoreClaw can use your local browser in tasks that you actively start, such as:

  • Open a specific web page and extract page content
  • Enter your store admin to find orders, products, or reports
  • Click, scroll, or switch tabs on dynamic pages
  • Access related pages using the current login session in your browser
  • Continue a task after you manually complete login or human verification

Example instructions:

  • Open this competitor product page and extract the title, price, review count, and key selling points
  • After I log in to Shopify admin, check whether there are any new high-risk orders today
  • Open the Amazon search results page and summarize the price range and review count of the top 10 competitors

Permissions and Security

The StoreClaw Chrome extension is used only for browser tasks that you actively start. After the connection is set up, StoreClaw does not continuously access your browser or operate web pages without a triggered task.

When a browser task is running, please note:

  • The extension may read page content related to the current task.
  • If a page is already logged in, StoreClaw may access that page using the current login session.
  • For sensitive actions such as account login, payment, or form submission, we recommend reviewing the task before it runs.
  • If a CAPTCHA or human verification appears, you need to complete it manually in your local browser.

How It Works With Other Features

Chat

Local browser actions are usually started from Chat. You can describe the target page and task in natural language, and StoreClaw will call the Chrome extension when needed.

Skills

Some Skills may need to access web pages or admin pages during execution. When a task depends on a real browser environment, the skill may call Browser capabilities to complete the required steps.

Scheduled Tasks

Scheduled Tasks run in the cloud by default. Tasks that depend on your local Chrome browser require your device, Chrome, and the extension to remain available. Because of this, they are not suitable for fully unattended cloud-based scheduled tasks.

FAQ

Q: After installing the extension and refreshing the page, it still does not show “Connected”. What should I do?

A: Check the following items in order:

  • Make sure Chrome is still running.
  • Open the Chrome extensions page and confirm that StoreClaw is installed.
  • Make sure the extension switch is turned on.
  • Go back to StoreClaw → Settings → Browser, refresh the page, and wait a few seconds.
  • If you use multiple Chrome profiles, make sure the extension is installed in the same Chrome profile where you are logged in to StoreClaw.

Q: Chrome cannot install the extension. What should I do?

A: First, make sure you are using Chrome and can open the Chrome Web Store page: StoreClaw - Chrome Web Store

If extension installation is restricted by your network, account policy, or browser policy, try again later or ask your local device administrator to check Chrome extension installation permissions.

Q: Do I still need to turn on Developer Mode after installing from the Chrome Web Store?

A: No. The StoreClaw Chrome extension is now distributed through the Chrome Web Store, so normal installation does not require Developer Mode or manual folder dragging.

Q: Will StoreClaw keep accessing my browser after it is connected?

A: No. StoreClaw only operates your local browser when you send an instruction or when a clearly triggered task needs to use Browser capabilities.

Q: Can I use multiple Chrome windows at the same time?

A: Yes. To reduce interruptions during task execution, we recommend keeping the target web page open and avoiding closing Chrome or switching to unrelated pages while the task is running.

Q: When will Edge and Safari be supported?

A: Edge and Safari support is still being planned. If the page shows Coming Soon, it means support for that browser is not available yet.

Notes

  • Do not close Chrome while a task is running, or the current browser task may be interrupted.
  • If multiple Chrome windows are open, keep the target window open so you can observe the task progress.
  • If the page requires login, authorization, or human verification, complete it manually in your local browser.
  • The current version is still in Beta. If you encounter unexpected behavior, go to Settings -> Get Help to send feedback.
