After you connect Amazon, StoreClaw can read orders, inventory, products, reviews, and related data within the authorized scope for business analysis, reports, and automation tasks. This guide explains how to complete the Amazon SP-API app setup and obtain the four credentials required to connect Amazon to StoreClaw.
Process Overview
Connecting an Amazon store usually starts with the following 3 core stages:
- Prepare your account and required information
- Complete developer profile registration or review
- Create the app and collect the 4 required credentials
After completing the process, you will need to enter the following 4 values into StoreClaw:
- Seller ID
- LWA Client ID
- LWA Client Secret
- Refresh Token
Tip: The slowest part of this process is usually Amazon's review of the developer profile. It is best to start that step as early as possible and use the waiting time to review the rest of the setup.
Before You Start
Before you begin, make sure the following conditions are met:
- You are using an Amazon Professional Seller Account.
- You are signed in with the primary account, or the primary account has granted you app development permissions.
- You have identified the region you want to connect, such as North America (NA), Europe (EU), or Far East (FE).
Note: One set of credentials can access only the regions that were authorized. If you operate in multiple regions, you will usually need to repeat the setup for each region.
Information to Prepare in Advance
To avoid interruptions during setup, it is helpful to prepare the following in advance:
- Your registered company name
- Your company website URL
- The name and email of the technical contact
- The Amazon store name and marketplace region you plan to connect
- Standard answers for the security questionnaire
Note: If you are unsure how to complete the security questionnaire or do not have a suitable business email address, contact the StoreClaw customer success team before submitting. Submitting incomplete or inconsistent information may lead to a rejection and a longer wait on resubmission.
Step 1: Open the App Development Entry
1. Sign in to Amazon Seller Central
Open your browser and go to https://sellercentral.amazon.com/, then sign in with your primary seller account.
If you land on the Seller Central dashboard, you can access the relevant settings or development entry from the upper-right menu.

2. Open the Develop Apps Page
In the top or left navigation of Seller Central, find:
Apps and Services -> Develop Apps

If you cannot find this entry, the most common causes are:
- You are signed in with a sub-account
- The sub-account has not been granted
Develop Appspermission - The current account is not a Professional Seller account
In that case, ask the primary account owner to go to Settings -> User Permissions and grant the required development permissions.
3. Select the Seller Account to Bind
If your login is associated with multiple seller accounts, Amazon will ask you to choose the one you want to connect to StoreClaw.

Tip: If you choose the wrong account at this stage, you can still switch later, but it is better to confirm the correct store and marketplace first.
Step 2: Complete Developer Profile Registration or Review
This is the most important and often the most time-consuming part of the process. You can create a production app only after the developer profile has been approved.
1. Fill in the Developer Profile
If this is the first time the account is using app development features, Amazon will ask you to complete the developer profile or the onboarding flow in the newer Solution Provider Portal.

Pay special attention to the following sections:
- Contact Information: Use a real, stable business email address that can receive review notifications.
- Data Access / Roles: These determine which types of data StoreClaw can read.
- Security Questionnaire: Amazon will ask about encryption, access control, log retention, employee permissions, and incident response.
2. Recommended Data Access Roles
For StoreClaw basic users, it is recommended to select the following roles as completely as possible so that later analysis features do not miss data:
Product ListingPricingInventory and Order TrackingAmazon FulfillmentBuyer CommunicationTax InvoicingTax Remittance
Note: Role names may vary slightly as Amazon updates the interface. The main principle is to cover product, pricing, inventory, order, and fulfillment data as completely as possible.
The reason for selecting these roles broadly is that StoreClaw's business analysis, customer insights, inventory checks, and fulfillment analysis rely on multiple data domains at the same time. If one category of role is missing, some analysis results may be incomplete or certain modules may not work as expected.
In most cases, selecting these relevant roles does not create additional charges, and you can return later to adjust the permissions if your business needs change.
3. Complete the Security Questionnaire
The security questionnaire is usually a key review checkpoint and one of the most common reasons that a submission gets sent back. Typical questions may cover:
- Data encryption methods
- Access control mechanisms
- Log retention periods
- Employee permission management
- Data breach response procedures
If you are not sure how to answer, it is best to get the standard response template from the StoreClaw customer success team before submitting.
4. Submit and Wait for Review
After submission, the profile will usually enter review status. Review results are typically sent to the contact email address you provided in the profile.
Common review timing:
- Developer profile review: about 3-5 business days
Once approved, you will usually see the entry to continue creating an app, such as Add new application, Add new app client, or a similar button.
Step 3: Create the App
After the developer profile is approved, return to the app development page and create your first app.
1. Open the App List
Go back to the Develop Apps page or the Solution Provider Portal page and locate the app list area.
2. Create the App
Click Add new application, Add new app client, or a similar button to start creating the app. At this stage, you will usually need to fill in:
- App Name: It is recommended to use something like
StoreClaw - [Your Company Short Name]so the app is easy to identify later. - API Type: Select
Selling Partner API - App Type: Select
Production
When creating the app, pay attention to the environment type:
- Sandbox: Returns test data only and is meant for developer testing
- Production: Returns real store data and is the correct choice for StoreClaw
Note: If you are connecting the store to StoreClaw, make sure the later authorization and data access are based on the Production environment. A Sandbox-only setup will return test data instead of real store data.
Step 4: Collect the 4 Credentials Required by StoreClaw
After the app is created, open the app details page and collect all credentials one by one.
1. Get the Seller ID
The Seller ID is your seller identity number and usually starts with an uppercase A.
You can find it in the app details page or in the relevant account information section of Seller Central.

When copying it:
- Do not include leading or trailing spaces
- Make sure the full value is copied
2. Get the LWA Client ID and LWA Client Secret
On the app details page, find the LWA credentials section:
- Client identifier is the
LWA Client ID - Client secret is the
LWA Client Secret

Note: The LWA Client Secret should be treated like a password. Do not share it in group chats, public documents, or screenshots. It is best to paste it directly into StoreClaw after copying.
3. Get the Refresh Token
The Refresh Token is the most important of the four credentials because it allows StoreClaw to access your store data on an ongoing basis.
In most cases, you can generate it from the app details page by clicking Authorize, Self Authorize, Create Token, or a similar button.

After authorization, Amazon returns a long token string, usually starting with Atzr|. That is the Refresh Token.

Important: The Refresh Token is often shown in full only once at the time it is generated. Copy and save it immediately. If you forget to copy it, you usually need to repeat the authorization flow and the old token will become invalid.
4. Final Checklist Before Leaving Amazon
Before leaving the Amazon backend, confirm that you have copied all four items below:
| Credential | Description |
|---|---|
Seller ID | Seller identifier |
LWA Client ID | App identity ID |
LWA Client Secret | App secret |
Refresh Token | Authorization token |
Complete the Configuration in StoreClaw
After you have all the credentials, return to StoreClaw and finish the connection:
- Sign in to StoreClaw and open the Connectors page from the left navigation.
- Find the Amazon card and click connect.
In the dialog, paste the following values in order:
- Seller ID
- LWA Client ID
- LWA Client Secret
- Refresh Token
- Select the correct Marketplace, such as
US,JP, orUK. - Enter an easy-to-recognize name for this connection, such as
US Main Store. - Click save and connect. StoreClaw will immediately run a connectivity check.
If the card shows a connected status, the connection has been established successfully. The first data sync usually starts within a few minutes.
FAQ
Q: The Develop Apps menu is grayed out or missing. What should I do?
A: This is usually caused by the account type or permission setup. Check whether the account is a Professional Seller account, whether you are using the primary account, and if you are using a sub-account, whether development permissions were granted to it.
Q: What if the review is rejected?
A: Amazon usually explains the reason in the review email. The most common issues are an invalid contact email, incomplete or non-standard answers in the security questionnaire, or company information that does not match the registered details. Correct the issue and resubmit.
Q: I forgot to copy the Refresh Token and the page is closed. What can I do?
A: In most cases, you can return to the app details page and run the authorization or token generation flow again. The newly generated Refresh Token will replace the old one.
Q: Does the Refresh Token expire?
A: Under normal circumstances, it remains valid for a long time. However, it can become invalid if you revoke authorization, change key app permissions, or Amazon flags the usage as abnormal. In that case, repeat the authorization process to restore the connection.
Q: I operate in multiple regions such as the US, Japan, and Germany. How many times do I need to do this?
A: Amazon's North America, Europe, and Far East ecosystems are usually managed separately. If you need to connect multiple regions, you will generally need to complete the setup separately for each one.
Q: Is there any cost for this setup itself?
A: Amazon's developer registration and SP-API access are generally not charged separately. StoreClaw pricing depends on your subscription plan and the number of stores you connect.
- Seller ID
- LWA Client ID
- LWA Client Secret
- Refresh Token

Apps and Services (应用和内容) -> Develop Apps (开发应用)

Develop Apps

Product Listing(商品目录)Pricing(商品定价)Inventory and Order Tracking(库存和订单)Amazon Fulfillment(FBA 履约)Buyer Communication(买家消息)Tax Invoicing(税务发票,视站点而定)Tax Remittance(税款申报,视站点而定)
Add new application、Add new app client
- App Name(应用名称): 建议填写
Production(生产环境)
- Sandbox:
1. 获取 Seller ID

2. 获取 LWA Client ID 和 LWA Client Secret
- Client identifier 就是
LWA Client ID - Client secret 就是
LWA Client Secret

3. 获取 Refresh Token

|---|---|
Seller ID |
LWA Client ID |
LWA Client Secret |
Refresh Token |
- Seller ID
- LWA Client ID
- LWA Client Secret
- Refresh Token
US、JP、UK。
